Monthly Challenge

Below are the skills needed to qualify for the Docs Dominator  Badge.  Please review the skills and complete those you have not yet done this school year.  There are also a few specific requirements for your badge submission outlined at the end of the document.  

Create a Google Doc

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Login to
  3. Click New
  4. Click Google Docs
Share a Google Doc

  1. Click the Share button
  2. Enter an email address
  3. Give the collaborator view or edit access
  4. Click Done
Use the voice typing feature

  1. Click Tools
  2. Click Voice Typing
  3. To start typing with your voice, click the microphone icon that appears on the left side of your screen.
  4. Click the microphone again to stop voice typing


Add comments to a Google Doc

  1. Highlight text with your mouse
  2. Click Insert 
  3. Click Comment
  4. Type your comment in the box that appears on the screen
  5. Click Comment to post the comment
View a Google Doc’s version history*

  1. Click File
  2. Click Version history
  3. Click See version history

*Tip – This works best on a shared doc that has some edits

When You Are Finished

Head back to and confirm you have completed all of the steps above.
